When you are visiting IKEA to buy a bed, make sure you have loads of money in your wallet, because trust me you will leave there spending more than you originally anticipated.
If you have ever visited IKEA then you are probably nodding your head in agreement at the above statement, if you haven’t, let me explain.
IKEA stores are designed in such a way that you become disorientated and confused as to finding your way around the store, so when suddenly you went in just to pick up some new plates for a dinner party, you couldn’t find them but come out with a brand new kitchen, that example is probably extreme, however it does happen.
Nothing happens by accident at IKEA, they can get you through the door with the excellent irresistible offers and once you have had a look round the full price items, you suddenly find that your trolley is full.
It’s a great idea for IKEA, but not necessarily for us consumers, especially in these tough economic times, every penny is a prisoner and you have to be careful.
If you want some expert advice when it comes to buying a bed, consider visiting a smaller independent store or try online, that way you are in control of what you are looking at and you wont be tempted to pick up any little add-on’s.
You may be thinking you are a strong enough character to avoid spending anymore money than you originally set out to, unfortunately the people who design the layout of IKEA are paid loads of money to ensure you spend more, even if you just buy a hot dog and some fries at the end of your shopping trip, because you are so tired and need energized because you have been wandering around IKEA trying to find what you were originally looking for.
